A champion of love, acceptance and equality. Michael Henson was a member of the MSLS class of 2007. He was a joyful, energetic, kind and passionate sustainability advocate. He passed away suddenly on September 18, 2012, at far too young an age. Michael’s thesis work at BTH focused on the campus sustainability movement – evaluating how higher education was and could be educating the next generation of citizens. He was an active supporterof LGBT rights. As his obituary stated: Michael's soul soars high because of his generous spirit of giving himself to human rights advocacy, environmental awareness… He was a champion of love, acceptance and equality. We will all be better people because of him. In loving memory of Michael and his legacy, Stratleade is proud to announce the naming of The Michael Craig Henson Memorial Scholarship. Each year, this grant will be awarded to a deserving student, who would not otherwise be able to study at the MSLS programme at BTH. It will support individuals with a passion for promoting equality, acceptance, and human and civil rights to reach their full potential as sustainability effective champions.
